CTS Credentialed Pathway (Terminology)
A Pathway is a selection of courses to give students the opportunity to explore and acquire the attitudes, skills and knowledge for future careers that are relevant to their interests. Pathways can work toward goals that may include university, college, apprentice training or moving directly into the workforce.
The following are the types of Pathways:
- Credentialed with External Credential - These represent the pathways that can assist the student in achieving an external credential.
- Credentialed without External Credential - These represent the pathways that would not directly assist the student in achieving an external credential. Examples of this are the apprenticeship-based programs – the pathway can help the student to get the knowledge necessary, but there are additional steps necessary to get the credential such as the hands-on/experienced-based components.
A CTS Credentialed Pathway can compromise of one or more CTS Credentialed Pathway requirement sets. A Student must 'Achieve' all CTS Credentialed Pathway requirement sets to 'Complete' a Pathway. Refer to CTS Credentialed Pathway Completion Calculator for more information about specific rules.

Structure of CTS Credentialed Pathway
Structure explained as below:
- A CTS Credentialed Pathway consists of one of more CTS Credentialed Pathway requirement sets. A student must 'Achieve' all of the CTS Credentialed Pathway requirement sets to 'Complete' the Pathway.
- CTS Credentialed Pathway requirement set consists of one or more CTS Credentialed Pathway requirement. If the CTS Credentialed Pathway requirement set consists of one or more requirement group then the student must 'Achieve' atleast one requirement group to 'Achieve' the Pathway requirement set. A requirement group may have the criteria of X of Y, where the student must complete X of Y requirements to 'Achieve' that CTS Credentialed Pathway Requirement Set.
- A CTS Credentialed Pathway requirement consists of the Course (i.e. Course code) that the student must successfully 'Achieve' to 'Achieve' the CTS Credentialed Pathway Requirement.
