Validation Rules
This data element is used in the following validation rules:
- Rule 11201 - Duplicate Student Name
- Rule 11203 - Period in Name
- Rule 11204 - Leading Space in Name
- Rule 11205 - Name not in Mixed Case
- Rule 11206 - Trailing Space in Name
- Rule 11207 - Repeated Spaces in Name
- Rule 11208 - Name starts with a Hyphen
- Rule 11218 - Identity Name is a Duplicate
- Rule 11219 - Name ends with a Hyphen
- Rule 11220 - Repeated Hyphens in Name
- Rule 11221 - Space Beside Hyphen in Name
- Rule 11222 - Repeated Apostrophes in Name
- Rule 11223 - Stand Alone Apostrophe in Name
- Rule 11224 - Name starts with a Period
- Rule 11401 - Duplicate Student
- Rule 11403 - Duplicate Student
- Rule 11404 - Student cannot be created
- Rule 11405 - Student cannot be created
- Rule 11406 - Student cannot be updated
- Rule 11407 - Student cannot be updated

Data Format Guidelines
When this data element is presented, it should be formatted as a String.

When this data element is displayed it should adhere to the following guidelines:

This field will:
- Restrict the value to a maximum length of 50 characters,
- Ensure the value does not start with a period or a hyphen,
- Ensure the value does not end with a hyphen, and
- Remove a leading or trailing spaces from the value.
