This rule is used to validate:
To perform this validation, the following information is used:
- N/A
Description
The student’s current responsible school record has a Transition Reason of To Be Determined.
- “Currently responsible” means the school on the student’s latest responsible school record (based on the effective date) where the responsible school’s effective date is equal or prior to current date with a Has Responsible School = Yes.
This rule will not fail on a responsible school record that is not the current record.
This rule will not fail on a responsible school record with a null school code value.
This rule does not apply to:
- deleted responsible school records.
- ADLC (S.0099) or CFED (S.1363)
- Lloydminster Public (A.3170), Lloydminster Roman Catholic (A.4870)
- Out of Alberta - School Authority Types 20
Note: Assuming that only the responsible school processor/PASI system will ever set a responsible school record’s transition reason to “To Be Determined”, this rule only applies where the responsible school processor is being used and can be removed if and when the responsible school processor is ever disabled.
This rule sets the responsible school status record's Next Scan Date to the next future effective date of any future-dated Responsible School records for the student.
This next scan date for the responsible school record only gets updated if the responsible school record in context is considered current or future record.

When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:
Missing Responsible School Transition Reason. The system has determined that {School Description} ({School Code}) is responsible for the student, but the transition reason is to be provided.
Where:
- {School Code} is the school code of the school on the responsible school record.
- {School Description} is the school description of the school on the responsible school record.
