Manage myPass Mailbox

A Student or Connected 3rd Party can use the myPass Mailbox functionality to view and manage their mail.

Note: While the user will access and manage their emails through myPass, the actual storage of messages and related settings like Notification Preferences will be stored in PED - Provincial Education Directory.

Primary Scenario – Reading Messages

This scenario begins after the User (student or 3rd party) - an Active user - logons to myPass using their Education Account:

  1. from the myPass Home Page the user clicks on the Mailbox link at the right hand side of the screen
  2. from the Mailbox screen the user can review unread - bolded highlighted - or unread - normal text - messages
  3. the user selects a message by clicking on it and the message body text will be displayed to the right

Second Scenario – Setting Notification Preferences

This scenario begins after the User (student or 3rd party) - an Active user - logons to myPass using their Education Account:

  1. from the myPass Home Page the user clicks on the Mailbox link at the right hand side of the screen
  2. from the Mailbox screen the user clicks on the Notifications Preferences link at the right hand side of the screen
  3. from the Notifications Preferences screen the user can set whether or not they wish to receive notifications for each message type
    1. the options are None or Email

Third Scenario – Deleting / Undeleting Messages

This scenario begins after the User (student or 3rd party) - an Active user - logons to myPass using their Education Account:

  1. from the myPass Home Page the user clicks on the Mailbox link at the right hand side of the screen
  2. from the Mailbox screen the user clicks on the - Select Checkbox - either single or multi-select at the top of row
  3. once the user has selected the desired records to be deleted, they will click on the - DELETE - action
  4. all the selected records will be removed from the default - Mailbox - view

To view the deleted records, the user would click on the - Trash - view. If the user wishes to restore any deleted messages, they would:

  1. from the myPass Home Page the user clicks on the Mailbox link at the right hand side of the screen
  2. from the Mailbox screen the user clicks on the - Select Checkbox - either single or multi-select at the top of row
  3. once the user has selected the desired records to be deleted, they will click on the - UNDELETE - action
  4. all the selected records will be removed from the - Trash - view and restored to the - Mailbox - view

Fourth Scenario – Mark Messages Unread

This scenario begins after the User (student or 3rd party) - an Active user - logons to myPass using their Education Account:

  1. from the myPass Home Page the user clicks on the Mailbox link at the right hand side of the screen
  2. from the Mailbox screen the user can review unread - bolded highlighted - or unread - normal text - messages
  3. the user selects a message by clicking on it and the message body text will be displayed to the right
  4. if the user requires the message to show as unread they will click on the - Mark Message Unread - button
  5. this will return the message to an unread - bold highlighted - state.
