The student may request their email information be added or revised if they want to communicate with Alberta Education:
The scenario begins where a student requests to have their email address added to PASI.
This scenario ends with the student's email address being added to the student's record in PASIprep. PASI is able to send unsolicited emails to the student, e.g. diplomas have been marked email message.
Note: Email address information can only be managed by a Ministry or School user until that student has created and activated a self-connection. From that point, all email address management must be completed by the student via PAS.
This scenario continues from step 1 of the Primary Scenario. Where an email already exists for another student with an activated self-connection, the new email cannot be added for the student.
This scenario ends with the email not being added.
The scenario begins where a student requests to have their email information updated in PASI.
This scenario ends with the student's email address being updated on the student's record in PASIprep. PASI is able to send unsolicited emails to the student’s updated email address as long as Active is still set to “Yes”.
This scenario continues from Alternate Scenario #2. Where an email already exists for another student with an activated self-connection, the existing email cannot be updated to an email that already exists with an activated self-connection.
This scenario ends with the email not being updated.
The scenario begins where a student requests to not be contacted by Alberta Education.
This scenario ends with the active student email address(es) being deleted from the student's record in PASIprep.
