CTS Credentialed Pathway Completion Calculator

The CTS Credentialed Pathway Completion Calculator is part of the Transcript Processor and is responsible for the following function(s):

  • Determining when a student has 'Achieved' all requirements for a CTS Credentialed Pathway and is deemed to have 'Completed' the Pathway.

The CTS Credentialed Pathway Completion calculation happens after:

  • The processing of official marks AND
  • The official mark first Achievement date and first achieved School year for a course have been calculated.

PASI calculates and stores/updates pathway completion data for students meeting the following criteria:

  • Based on the update to the student (i.e. Course Enrolment or Evaluated Mark record were added) or CDA pathway definition information, has the student achieved all pathway requirement sets for a pathway before the pathway End Date.
  • The following details are also considered:
    • A Pathway Requirement is considered achieved when all course(s) associated to it have been completed by the student.
      • The requirement achievement date represents the earliest course achievement date that meets the X of Y (NumberToComplete) courses rule for the requirement.
    • A CTS Credentialed Pathway Requirement Set is considered achieved when at least 1 CTS Credentialed Pathway Requirement group has been achieved by the student.
      • The achievement date for the requirement set represents the minimum/earliest of the requirement achievement dates.
  • A student must have Student Academic Activity in or after the pathway effective start school year value.

If an update to the student information (i.e. Course Enrolment or Evaluated Mark record) or changes to the pathway structure in CDA (in turn in PASI) means that previously completed Pathway for the student is no longer deemed as 'Completed' then the pathway information is (logically deleted) from the student's Records.

For Example:

  • The pathway will be considered to be “complete” for the student in these scenarios:
  1. A student started working towards a pathway while it was active AND achieved the last CTS Credentialed Pathway Requirement Set between the pathway start and end school year.
  2. A student started working towards a pathway before it was active AND achieved the last CTS Credentialed Pathway Requirement Set between the pathway start and end school year.
  3. A student achieved all the pathway requirement sets before the pathway start school year and the student has Student Academic Activity after the pathway start school year.
  • The pathway will not be considered to be “complete” for the student in these scenarios:
  1. A student started working towards the pathway while it was active, but did not finish all CTS Credentialed Pathway Requirement Sets before the pathway end school year.
  2. A student started working towards the pathway AFTER the pathway end school year.
  3. A student completed the requirement sets before the pathway start school year, but the student does not have any Student Academic Activity after the pathway start school year.
