Diploma Exam
A standardized Exam for courses identified as ‘diploma courses’ that must be taken prior to awarding credit in the diploma course. Diploma Exams certify the level of individual achievement and ensure that province-wide standards of achievement are maintained.
A Exam may have one or more diploma_exam_components and it outlines a specific exam delivered and administered in a specific Exam Session.
Diploma Exams are represented with an Exam Type of DPE (or PDE for pilot diploma exams).
The source of truth for diploma exam results is Assessment Sector.
Note: in 2015 (and older) endpoints, GED Exams are also stored as an Exam with an Exam Type of GED; from the 2016 endpoint and onward, only Diploma Exams will be stored.

In order to access a record, the:
- Organization must have Access to the Student, and
- Organization must be associated to the student By Last School Enrolment or better1).
When accessible, the following rules are applied to specific data elements on the record:

Adding a new Record

Updating a Record
In order to update an existing record, the:
- Organization must have Access to the Student, and
- Organization must be associated to the student By Last School Enrolment or better4), and
- Organization must own the record.
