This rule is used to validate:

• Preferred Name

To perform this validation, the following information is used:

• Preferred Name

Where the user attempts to set the current Preferred name as the preferred student name, this rule will stop that by producing a rejection. The user can only set a student name to preferred when it is not already the preferred name.

Include the following as needed:

• Effective Starting School Year: all school years
• Effective Ending School Year: all school years

When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:

• This name already Preferred. The preferred Name can only be updated to a name that is not currently specified as preferred.
