Unless otherwise specified, this data element should adhere to the guidelines below.
Data Format Guidelines
When this data element is presented, it should be presented using the Full Name attribute of the referenced Student Name record.
Read Only Field
When this data element is displayed it should adhere to the following guidelines:

Editable Field
The Preferred Name can only be edited by selecting a student name to be chosen as the student's Preferred Name. This is typically done as an action on screen instead of using a field.
When editing a specific student name record, a Combo / Drop Down Control can be used to indicate that this particular name record should be selected as the student's preferred name as outlined below:
