This rule is used to validate:

• School (Student School Enrolment)

To perform this validation, the following information is used:

• Enrolment Type Codes
• Registration Start Date
• Registration Exit Date
• Responsible School Code
• Responsible School Effective Date
• Mature Student Status

Where a student is currently enrolled with a school (the current date is within the range of the start and exit date on the school enrolment), but that school is not the current responsible school (the most recent responsible school record with an effective date ⇐ current date), this rule will fail.

This rule will ignore school enrolment records with any of the following:

• Is Deleted = Yes
• Enrolment Type Codes: 600, 402, 403, 412, 413, 414, 415, or 416,
• Grant Program Codes: 620, 621, 622, 623
• Students with a Mature Student Status
• Lloydminster Public (A.3170), Lloydminster Roman Catholic (A.4870)
• Out of Alberta - School Authority Types 20

This rule will set the student’s school enrolment next scan date to the next available start date or exit date across all not deleted school enrolments for student.

This rule will fail where:

• no current responsible school record exists for the student OR
• the current responsible school record is for a school outside of Alberta (no school code) OR
• the current responsible school record is for a school code that is not the school on the school enrolment

“Current responsibility” means the school on the student’s latest responsible school record (based on the effective date) where the responsible school’s effective date is equal or prior to current date with a Has Responsible School = Yes.

This rule is effective as of the 2019/2020 school year.

Expected Action: The school with a current school enrolment is to re-assess who the responsible school is for the student.

In the case of a non-alberta school being responsible for the student:

• Where the responsible school is a non-alberta school and the student is enrolled with an alberta school, that enrolled school should be notified that responsibility should be re-assessed.
• This Advice rule is used to validate the non-alberta responsible school information (e.g., School Name, School Country, School State/Province or School City) against the school code on the student’s current school enrolments.

When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:

Where:

• {School Code} is the school code of the school on the school enrolment record.
• {School Description} is the school description of the school on the school enrolment record.
