This rule is used to validate the following data in a Section record:

• Reference ID (Section)

To perform this validation, the following information is used:

• Start Date
• End Date
• School Code
• School Code (Section)
• Governing School Authority
• Governing Authority Effective Date
• Governing Authority Expiry Date
• Organization Status Is Active
• Organization Status Effective Date
• Organization Status Expiry Date

The section must be associated to a school that has an active authority on the Section Start Date, when Section Start Date is provided, but Section End Date is not provided.

Effective Starting School Year: 1978/1979

When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:

• Invalid Section Start Date. The School Authority associated to the Section ({SchoolAuthorityCode}) is not active on the Section Start Date ({SectionStartDate}).

Where:

• {SchoolAuthorityCode} means the Governing School Authority for the School Code on the Section record based on the Start Date
• {SectionStartDate} means the Start Date on the Section record
