Section

A Section defines the delivery environment and timing of a course(s) offering by a school like the start date, term, credits offered and delivery method. Section information does not include any information about which students are taking the course(s).

Data Access Rules

The following rules are applied to control access to view/add/edit Section records.

Access to a Record

In order to access a record, the:

PASI Client must have the View Academic Record User role.

In addition, when being accessed via PASIprep, the:

PASIprep user must have the PASIprep Level 06 Permission - View Courses and Marks and view access to Manage Credentials permission.

When accessible, the following rules are applied to specific data elements on the record:

Data Element	Access Controls
Audit History (Section)	Only available if the Organization owns the record.
Validation Status (Section)	Only available if the Organization owns the record.
All other data elements	Available if the record is accessible.

Adding a new Record

In order to add a new section, the:

PASI Client must have the Submit Academic Record User role.

In addition, when being added via PASIprep, the:

PASIprep user must have the PASIprep Level 07A Permission - Manage Course Marks permission.

Updating a Record

There are two types of updates that can be done to a section:

Updating the details of the Section
Updating the Acknowledgement Status of a Core Alert associated to a Section

Updating a Section

In order to update section record, the:

PASI Client must have the Submit Academic Record User role, and
Organization must own the record.

In addition, when being updated via PASIprep, the:

PASIprep user must have the PASIprep Level 07A Permission - Manage Course Marks permission.

Updating the Status of a Section Core Alert

In order to update the Acknowledgement Status of a core alert associated to a recent section, the:

PASI Client must have the Submit Academic Record User role, and
Organization must own the associated section.
