This rule is used to validate:

• Reference ID

To perform this validation, the following information is used:

• School Code
• Courses Offered
• Section Start Date
• Section End Date
• Section Term
• Course Code
• School Code
• Credit Version
• First School Year
• Last School Year
• Organization
• Classification Type

When only 1 course is being offered within a section the following checks are to be made:

• When active permissions exist for the course, then the school must be associated with the authority (organization) that is permitted to offer the course.

• The provided credits must equal the Credit Version.
  

• If there are no active permissions for a course, then no one is permitted to offer the course.

Where null Credit Version exists on the Course Permission record:

• If permission organization code = A.* AND the section school year is equal to or within the course authorization First School Year and Last School Year values, this rule passes. Otherwise, this rule fails.
• If permission organization code <> A.* AND the section school year is equal to or within the course authorization First School Year and Last School Year values, this rule passes. Otherwise, this rule fails.
  • If the organization code is an authority, all schools within that authority inherit the permission.
  • If the organization code is a school, that school has permission

Where Credit Version information is included on the Course Permissions record:

• If organization code = A.* OR
• The organization code <> A.*:
  • If the organization code is an authority, all schools within that authority inherit the permission.
  • If the organization code is a school, that school has permission
• Check the timeframe:
  • If UseEffectiveDates? = Yes on the permission, the Section Start Date and Section End Date must be equal to or fall within the permission credit version Effective Start Date and Effective End Dates. Otherwise, this rule fails.
  • If UseEffectiveDates? = No on the permission, the section school year must be equal to or within the course permission credit version First School Year and Last School Year value. Otherwise, this rule fails.

Effective Starting School Year: 2012/2013

Where:

• {SchoolCode} means the School Code field value on the Section record
• {CourseCode} means the Course Code field value for the Course Offered in the Section
• {SectionStartDate} means the Start Date field value on the Section record.
• {CourseCredit} means the Course Credit field value on the Section record.
