To perform this validation, the following information is used:

Description

Any attempts to award an external credential to a Student, where the Student is currently awarded that external credential from the same awarding organization will be rejected.

If a previously awarded external credential is currently deleted, this is considered to no longer be awarded to the Student and would not trigger this rule.

The following validation error message should be suppressed from displaying to the User when this rule is triggered: “Invalid Request. In order to update this record, your information must be up to date and current. Please synchronize your data and try again. Core { } and Client { } versions are not equal”.

This validation rule is in effect for all school years.

Implementation Details -

If an external credential has been renewed by the Student the awarding date should be updated to reflect the latest External Credential awarded Date

Message

When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:

  • Duplicate External Credential. The {External Credential Name} external credential awarded by {Awarding Organization} is already awarded to the student. A student cannot be awarded an external credential from an awarding organization more than once.

Where:

  • {External Credential Name} means the name of the external credential associated to the External Credential code submitted in the request.
