The service, Submit Student External Credential is used to manage External Credentials awarded to a Student in PASI Core. This service can be used to:

• Add a new Student External Credential
• Update an existing Student External Credential, or
• Delete or undelete an existing Student External Credential

This Submit Student External Credential service can be accessed by systems with the Submit Transcript User role.

A request to use this service will include (* denotes mandatory information):

• Alberta Student Number*
• External Credential Code*
• Awarded Date*
• Is Deleted (Student External Credential)*

The following rules are used to validate the information provided in the request:

• Rule 9002 - Invalid ASN
• Rule 9009 - Deactivated ASN
• Rule 9010 - Organization Not Associated to Student
• Rule 9014 - PASI Core Out of Date
• Rule 9023 - Empty Update
• Rule 9062 - Reject data associated to Secondary ASNs
• Rule 9063 - Alberta Student Number cannot be Updated
• Rule 61003 - External Credential not available on Awarded Date
• Rule 61004 - Cannot Add Or Modify An External Credential Record When Pre-Existing Deleted Record Exists
• Rule 61005 - Student had no school enrolment on External Credential awarded date
• Rule 61007 - Invalid External Credential Code
• Rule 61008 - Awarded Date in Future
• Rule 61009 - Duplicate External Credential

Once the request information has been validated, the Student External Credential information will be recorded / modified within the PASI Core and appropriate audit information will be created.

A response to a Submit Student External Credential request identifies if the request was successfully applied. If not successful, the response identifies which validation rules failed.
