This rule is used to validate the following data in a Student School Enrolment record:

• Student School Enrolment: Grade

To perform this validation, the following information is used:

• Student School Enrolment: Registration Start Date
• Student School Enrolment: Registration Exit Date
• Student School Enrolment: Exit Date Type
• Student School Enrolment: Programming Type
• Student School Enrolment: Programming Timeframe
• Student School Enrolment: Is Deleted
• Alberta Student Number

• The age of the student (as of September 1) should be consistent with the grade being enrolled as follow:
  • EC: 2 - 5
  • Grade 1: 5 - 7
  • Grade 2: 6 - 8
  • Grade 3: 7 - 9
  • Grade 4: 8 - 10
  • Grade 5: 9 - 11
  • Grade 6: 10 - 12
  • Grade 7: 11 - 13
  • Grade 8: 12 - 14
  • Grade 9: 13 - 15
  • Grade 10:13 - 17
  • Grade 11:14 - 18
  • Grade 12:15 +
• This rule is not calculated for Programming Type = Continuing Education or Deleted enrolments.
• This rule only applies to Student School Enrolment records with a School Year that is equal to the current school enrolment school year.

When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:

Inappropriate Age. The student does not appear to be the right age (Birth Date: {BirthDate}) for grade {Grade}.
