This rule is used to validate the following data in a Student Phone Number record:
To perform this validation, the following information is used:
Description
A Preferred Phone Number should not have an Expiry Date (Student Phone Number) that is in the past.
This rule does not apply if the Expiry Date (Student Phone Number) of the Student Phone Number record has been set and is more than 6 months in the past. In this case the Next Scan Date will not be set. Otherwise, the Next Scan Date is set to:
- 6 months following the Expiry Date if the Expiry Date is within the last 6 months
- 1 day following the Expiry Date if the Expiry Date is today or in the future
This validation rule is in effect for all school years.

Message
When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:
Expired Preferred Phone Number. The Expiry Date provided ({ExpiryDate}) for the preferred phone number cannot be in the past. (Phone Number Reference #{RefId})
Where:
- {ExpiryDate} is the Expiry Date (Student Phone Number) for the record.
- {RefId} is the Reference ID (Student Phone Number) of the record.
