This rule is used to validate:

• Reference ID (Course Enrolment)

To perform this validation, the following information is used:

• Student (Course Enrolment)
• Section Reference ID (Course Enrolment)
• Start Date
• End Date
• Section School Year
• Section Term
• Course Code (Course Enrolment)
• Entry Date
• Exit Date (Course Enrolment)

Course Enrolment records for the same student overlap across multiple sections at any schools (different or same).

1. If available, use the Course Enrolment Entry and Exit Date recorded.
2. If a Course Enrolment Entry/Exit Date is not available, use the Section Start/End Date of the associated Section.
3. If a Section Start/End Date is not available, derive a date based on the Term of the associated Section using Section Date Deriver Logic.

This validation rule is in effect for all school years.

When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:

• Overlapping Course Enrolment. Student {StateProvinceID} is also enrolled in Course {CourseCode} at schools: {ListOfSchoolCodes}.

Where:

• {StateProvinceID} means the Alberta Student Number on the course enrolment record
• {CourseCode} means the Course Code field value on the course enrolment record
• {ListofSchoolCodes} means a listing of School Code field values from enrolment records where Student is enrolled in the same course code
