To perform this validation, the following information is used:
Email address should be unique for each user as it supports the user establishing a myPass connection. In the instance, where Active Parent/Guardians records for a student share the same email address, we are unable to establish a myPass connection.
Note: As we are unable to establish a connection because the email address is shared between multiple parent/Guardian records for a student, the connection request will be denied and an Information message is returned to the user on the myPass page.
When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:
Unable to create a connection. Please contact the school or Red Tape Reduction and Student Records (StudentRecords@gov.ab.ca) for assistance.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This message is not returned to the user, instead an informational message is returned. Refer to Obtain Access to the Student Information via myPass to view the text for this information message.
