To perform this validation, the following information is used:
Phone numbers used to establish a myPass connection need to be unique for each user. In the instance, where Active Parent/Guardians records for a student share the same phone number, we are unable to establish a myPass connection.
If the Education Account Mobile Number is duplicated on any of the Student's phone numbers (home or mobile) or is duplicated on a parent/guardian's phone numbers (home or mobile) - a connection can not be established.
Note: As we are unable to establish a connection because the PED phone number is shared between multiple parent/Guardian records for a student or the student, the connection request will be denied and an Information message is returned to the user on the myPass page.
When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:
Unable to create a connection. Please contact the school or Red Tape Reduction and Student Records (StudentRecords@gov.ab.ca) for assistance.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This message is not returned to the user, instead an informational message is returned. Refer to Obtain Access to the Student Information via myPass to view the text for this information message.
