This rule is used to validate the following Student data:

• Alberta Student Number (Student)

To perform this validation, the following information is used:

• Alberta Student Number (Student)
• myPass Connection Education Account

When both Primary ASN and the Secondary ASN have Active (i.e. undeleted and unexpired) ‘Self’ myPass connection, then it is not permitted to establish a link.

Note: The either one of the myPass connection (either Primary or Secondary) must be deleted before the link can be established.

An Education account cannot establish a 'Self' connection to more than one Student. In the Scenario above, the Primary (ASN1) and Secondary (ASN2) has a 'Self' Connection to different education accounts. This is usually an indication that perhaps they are separate students and someone needs to review the myPass connection on these ASN in details. Hence, It is not permitted to establish a connection until one of these myPass connection is deleted.

This validation rule is in effect for all school years.

When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:
