This rule is used to validate the following data in a Section record:

• Section: Reference ID

To perform this validation, the following information is used:

• Section: Delivery Schedule
• Section: Description
• Section: Instructional Language
• Section: Local Section ID
• Section: Primary Delivery Method
• Section: School Code
• Section: School Year
• Section: Section Term

An undeleted section must be unique based on School Year, School Code, Section Term Code, Primary Delivery Method, Instructional Language, Delivery Schedule, Section Description, and Local Section ID.

• This validation rule is in effect for all school years.

(MS) July 23 - This rule already excluded deleted sections from the check but the description did not specify that so there was confusion. Modifying the description so that it specifically states deleted Sections must be excluded.

NOTE: This rule is also implemented on the indexed view of the database. Any changes to this rule must also be implemented at the database level.

When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:

Duplicate Section. This section has already been defined.
