Rule 40540 - Duplicate Exam Mark Component

Rule Type Rejection

Validated Data

This rule is used to validate the following data in a Exam Mark record:

To perform this validation, the following information is used:

Description

• An ASN cannot have more than one undeleted Exam Component Mark record (with a status of “Registered”) for the same Exam (i.e. School Year/Exam Period/Course Code), the same Exam Component Code, and Writing Centre.

Effective Period

  • This validation rule is in effect for all school years.

Additional Notes

If the Exam Mark has multiple Exam Component Marks, this rule will reject just as long as one of the Exam Component Mark is found to be a duplicate.

For internal (PASIprep/myPass) usage, this rule will pass if the internal RemoveRepeatRegistrationMarks flag for the Submit Diploma Exam Mark service is set to true, even if there already exist another Exam Mark registration for the same student, exam component, exam period and writing centre. This is allowed as setting the flag to true means the service will delete all other Exam Mark with a status of Registered for the same student, course code, school year and exam period, thus no duplicates will remain for the student.

Message

When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:

Invalid Exam Mark. An Exam Mark registration record already exists for this student (ASN{ASN}), exam period, exam component, and writing centre.
