This rule is used to validate:

• Alberta Student Number (Student)
• Parent/Guardian Email Address
• Guardian Mobile Number
• Education Account Primary Email Address
• Education Account Alternate Email Address

To perform this validation, the following information is used:

• Alberta Student Number (Student)
• Parent/Guardian Email Address
• Education Account Primary Email Address
• Education Account Alternate Email Address
• Student Identity: Birth Date

A Parent/Guardian has the only the following connection method to gain access to their student's information via myPass:

1. Email Address match - The Primary or the Alternate Email addresses from the PED Education Account matches the Email addresses recorded against the non-expired, non-deleted parent/Guardian record for the student they the Parent/Guardian is attempting to connect to. 2. Cell Phone Match - The Mobile Number associated to the PED Education Account matches a Guardian Mobile Number recorded against the non-expired, non-deleted parent/Guardian record for the student they the Parent/Guardian is attempting to connect to.

The logic of the rule is performed in the following manner:

• Email Address Match is performed
  • If Matches, The rule Passes and a connection is established between the Student and the Parent/Guardian's education account.
  • If No Match, the Cell Phone Match is performed
    • If Matches, The rule Passes and a connection is established between the Student and the Parent/Guardian's education account.
    • If No Match, and the student is under 18 years of age then the Parent/Guardian is requested to contact the school to get their details updated.
