A trigger record is used by a status processor to identify which records need to have their validation status reassessed. When data is updated within PASI that could cause a change to a record's validation status, a trigger for the record is created directing the relevant status processor to reevaluated the record.

Trigger records are typically created by the following processes:

• PASI Core services (e.g., Submit Student School Enrolment, Submit Course Enrolment, Submit Evaluated Mark)
• PASI Calculators (e.g., Official Mark Calculator)
• Synchronizations (e.g., CIA (Course Information Application))
• Operational Data Updates (e.g. Dual Credit Definition Updates)
