Calculating Official Marks for Regular Courses
When Calculating First Pass Official Mark Values for Regular Course Mark the Official Mark Calculator determines the final official mark value based on the marks submitted by schools.
A potential Official Mark will be generated based on Course Work and based on Evaluations. The final Official Mark will be based on the potential mark with the highest mark value. The achievement information for the final Official Mark will be source from the potential mark with the earliest achievement date.
Official Marks based on Course Work
A potential official mark calculated based on Course Work does not consider any evaluations that may have recorded, and only considers records with a Mark Value.
Selecting Marks
Only one Official Mark Selection is used when calculating an official mark based on Course Work.
When there is only one course mark record being considered, then it is selected with a selection reason of School Mark.
When there is more than one course mark record being considered, then the one with the highest mark value is selected with a selection reason of Highest Contributing School Mark.
Official Mark Details
Official Mark records created based on this template will have the following information:

Achievement Information
Achievement Information is only set when the Official Mark is deemed to be a Passing Official Mark. When set, the achievement information is set as follows:
| Achievement Date | The earliest Course Mark Completion Date of the course work records with a passing mark. |
| Achievement School Year | The School Year from the same record used to identified the Achievement Date. |
Official Marks based on Evaluations
A potential official mark calculated based on Evaluations and does not consider any course work that may have been recorded, and only considers records with a Mark Value.
Selecting Marks
Only one Official Mark Selection is used when calculating an official mark based on Evaluations.
- When there is only one evaluation record being considered, then it is selected.
- When there is more than one evaluation record being considered, then the one with the highest mark value is selected.
The selection reason used depends on the whether or not the course is allowed to accumulate credits
- If the course does not accumulate credit a selection reason of Course Evaluation is used.
- If the course does accumulate credit, a selection reason of Accumulated Course Evaluation is used.
