This step of the Official Mark Calculator calculates an Official Mark for each group of Course Mark records identified in the student's course mark history step.
For each group of Course Mark records, the official mark calculator applies the appropriate set of rules against the student's Course Mark information.
Calculating Official Marks for Diploma Exam Courses | A Course is considered a Diploma Exam Course, when the Course Evaluation Method for the course is Diploma Exam (DPE) or Pilot Diploma Exam (PDE). |
---|---|
Calculating Official Marks for GED Courses | A Course is considered a GED Course, when the Course Evaluation Method for the course is General Educational Dev Tests (GED). |
Calculating Official Marks for Regular Courses | A Course is considered a Regular course, when the Course Evaluation Method for the course is School (SCH). |
Each set of calculation rules may result in an Official Mark which includes the following information:
In the event that more than one set of rules is used to calculate an official mark for the same course code, the official mark with the highest Normalized Mark Value is used. In the event that more than one official mark share the highest mark value, the order of the rule sets outline above will be used.
Exception: The Achievement Date/School Year of the resulting official mark will be sourced from the potential official mark with the earliest Achievement Date.
At this point, there is (at most) 1 calculated Official Mark per identified Course Code.
