Managing Diploma Exam Registrations

After a Diploma Exam Registration is submitted, the student is permitted to change details of the registration before the Exam's time and the Exam's time. The student may need the registration updated if they wish to write at a different school, or they no longer wish to write the exam.

A student (or a connected 3rd party user to myPass) can update their registrations online anytime before the Exam's time and the Exam's time. They may also contact the writing centre to update the registration.

Primary Scenario #1 - Student edits a registration online

This scenario begins when a student logs into myPass to edit a diploma exam registration.

  1. Student views their current registration(s) on the Diploma Exam Registrations and Results screen
  2. Student edits their registration using the Edit Exam Writing Location and Language screen
    1. Student can select a new writing location / Diploma Exam Sitting and/or a new Language of Exam for the registration.

This scenario ends with the registration updated in PASI.

Alternate Scenario #1 - Student updating the course or exam session on a registration

Editing the course or the exam session on a registration is not permitted after the registration is created, as it may result in a change in fees, and fees are not transferable to a different course/exam session. Thus, the student must instead delete the registration and create a new one for the new course/exam session they wish to register for.

This scenario continues from Step 1 of the Primary Scenario #1.

  1. Student deletes their registration on the Diploma Exam Registrations and Results screen
  2. Student submits a new registration for the course/exam session they wish to register in through the Register for Diploma Exam sub-process.

This scenario ends with the existing registration removed and a new registrations submitted with the course/exam session that the student intends to write in.

Alternate Scenario #2 - Student no longer wants to write the exam

This scenario continues from Step 1 of the Primary Scenario #1, where student reviewed their registration(s) and decided to not write an exam they are registered for.

This scenario ends with the existing registration removed.

Alternate Scenario #3 - Student contacts writing centre to update registrations

This scenario begins when the student contacts the school/writing centre to update their registrations, instead of doing it on myPass. The writing centre can update the student's registration(s) on their behalf.

  1. Writing Centre reviews the student's registrations through PASIprep's Student Profile or through an integrated SIS via the Get Exam Mark service.
  2. Writing Centre updates the registration as requested by the student through PASIprep's Edit Diploma Exam Registration or an integrated SIS via the Submit Diploma Exam Mark service.

This scenario ends with the registration updated in PASI.

Alternate Scenario #4 - Student contacts Student Records to update registrations

This scenario begins when the student is unable to contact the school/writing centre to update their registrations, so they contact Alberta Education for assistance. Student Records can process their request to update the registration.

  1. Student Records reviews the student's registrations through PASIprep's Student Profile .
  2. Student Records updates the registration as requested by the student through PASIprep's Edit Diploma Exam Registration.

This scenario ends with the registration updated in PASI.
