This rule will prevent a user from updating a Document Type of a Student Document when:

For example, if the current document type is “AB Birth Certificate” and the document is linked to the Student Identity, the user cannot change the document type to “Progress Report / Report Card” because “Progress Report / Report Card” does not belong to the “Identity” category.

If the document was originally entered with an incorrect document type it should be entered again with the correct type and linked to the student identity. The document that was uploaded with the wrong type can then be deleted.


When this validation rule is triggered, the following message is returned:

Invalid Document Type for Student Identity. The document being updated is linked to the identity of the student and the document type cannot be changed to a type that is not categorized as an 'Identity' document.
