Rule 11010 - Postal Code Mismatch

Rule Type Advice

Validated Data

This rule is used to validate the following data in a Student Mailing Address record:

To perform this validation, the following information is used:

Description

For Canadian addresses, the Postal Code, City, and Province appear valid, but according to Canada Post, the Postal Code does not appear to match the City and Province provided.

This rule does not apply if the Expiry Date of the Student Address record has been set and is more than 6 months in the past. In this case the Next Scan Date will not be set. Otherwise, the Next Scan Date is set to the earliest of:

  • 6 months following the Expiry Date (if set)
  • 7 days from the current date (as Canada Post information is updated weekly in PASI)

Note: Next Scan Date is only set for Active Students.
This validation rule is in effect for all school years.

Additional Notes

This rule follows the PASI Data Format Guidelines to determine if the address is in Canada.
