There are times when the ministry is aware of an issue, either student based or system based, which affects the official marks and investigation is required by Student Records prior to releasing that student official mark information to outside bodies.
Since PASI releases student mark information to students and third parties through a number of different channels, it is necessary to manage the restriction of this information in a manner that prevent information from being released when undesired but still track the restrictions to ensure student are released from hold in a timely manner.
Student records should never be subject to these restrictions, as it is Student Records that investigates and resolves the issues.
A student hold will have the following restrictions:
SIS-Enabled schools will not be able to synchronize Student Official Marks (and Official Mark Audit Information) or Credential Requirement (and Requirement Audit Information) while the student is locked out.
Managing Student Holds includes the following:

This scenario continues from step 2 in the Primary Scenario where the Student Records user would like to edit the existing Student Hold to update the expiry date or notes.
This scenario ends with the Student Records saving their changes to the Student Hold.
This scenario continues from step 2 in the Primary Scenario where the Student Records user would like to end the Student Hold.
This scenario ends with the Student Hold expiry date is updated to the previous day and the Student Hold is no longer active. The student will be able to access their official marks and credentials via myPass and order a Transcript, Credential, Diploma Exam Results Statement (PDF) and Detailed Academic Report documents.
