This service is used to manage a Student Hold record for a Student in PASI. This service can be used to:

• Add a new Student Hold,
• Update an existing Student Hold, or
• Expire (end) an existing Student Hold.

A Student Hold restricts the release of Documents, Official Marks and Credentials for the related Student ASN.

The service can be accessed by systems with the PASI System User role.

The following Student Hold information is provided when using this service (* denotes mandatory information):

• Alberta Student Number (Student) *
• Student Hold Type*
• Expiry Date*
• Notes

The following rules are used to validate the information provided in the request:

• Rule 9002 - Invalid ASN
• Rule 9009 - Deactivated ASN
• Rule 9062 - Reject data associated to Secondary ASNs
• Rule 80003 - Invalid Hold on Deceased Student
• Rule 80004 - Invalid Expiry Date for Student Hold
• Rule 80005 - Duplicate Student Hold

Once the information is successfully validated, the information will be recorded within the PASI Core and the Student Hold will be updated to restrict the release of Documents, Official marks and Credentials related to the student, until the Student Hold expires.

A response to a Submit Student Hold Status request identifies if the request was successfully applied and returns a new PASI Core Version. If the request is not successful, the response identifies which validation rules failed.
