The purpose of this service is to award a single unique Credential Number to a single Student for a credential type that is Achieved, but not Awarded. Only one Credential Number shall be awarded for the Student within the Submit Credential Awarding Single request. The credential ordering defined in Awarding Credential will be ignored for this service which allows for the flexibility of adding a lower order credential if necessary.

The service can be accessed by systems with the PASI System User role.

The following information is provided when using this service:

• Alberta Student Number
• Credential Type
• School Year (Awarded Student Credential)
• Legacy Credential Number

The following rules are used to validate the information provided in the request:

• Rule 9002 - Invalid ASN
• Rule 44000 - No Achieved not Awarded Credentials
• Rule 44004 - Unreasonable Awarded Credential School Year
• Rule 44009 - Credential Requirement Set Not Achieved
• Rule 44010 - Credential Already Awarded
• Rule 44013 - Credential Management on Deactivated ASN
• Rule 44014 - Credential Management on Secondary ASN

If the validation passes, the service will produce a new Student Credential record for the student and create a new Transcript Trigger:

• Alberta Student Number = The student provided
• Credential Type = The Credential Type provided
• Credential Number = See Awarding Credential for Credential Number creation
• School Year = Supplied in request
• Legacy Credential Number = Supplied in request when applicable
• First Name = from Current Identity Name
• Middle Name = from Current Identity Name
• Last Name = from Current Identity Name
• Suffix = from Current Identity Name
• Awarded On Date = the current date

Where a student's credential has been awarded using this service, a Responsible School Processor Trigger will be created for the student with a Last Updated Object Name reflecting the student awarded credential object

When awarding a credential impacts the student's Maturity Date, a Course Enrolment Status Processor Trigger will be created for any of the student's Course Enrolment records with a Course Enrolment Start Date that is between the old and the new maturity date.

The usage of this service is audited using Service Auditing including the auditing of Caller Information.

The following information is returned after a successful request has been processed:

A successful response from this service will the following information from the created Student Credential record:

• Alberta Student Number
• Credential Type
• The new Credential Number
• PASI Core Version

If unsuccessful the Credential Number returned will be 0 and a list of errors will be returned.
