The Submit Student Citizenship Status service is used to manage a Student Citizenship record for a Student in PASI. This service can be used to:

• Add a new Student Citizenship Status,
• Update an existing Student Citizenship Status, or
• Delete an existing Student Citizenship Status.

This version of the service is available starting with the 2018 Service Endpoint¹⁾.

This service can be accessed by systems with the Submit Student User role.

The following information is provided when using this service:

• Alberta Student Number (Student)
• Student Citizenship Reference ID
• Student Citizenship Effective Date
• Student Citizenship Status
• Country of Citizenship
• Document Expiry Date
• Student Citizenship Is Deleted
• Student Citizenship Audit Information

• When called, this service should
  • Use the mapping information provided below to map the data elements that were passed into the service and determine the values for Student Citizenship Status and Guardian Citizenship Status:

• Call current version of Submit Student Citizenship Status service and pass the mapped data from above step and then validate the data using validation rules defined in current version of the service.
• Return the Response from the current version of Submit Student Citizenship Status service as the response for the Submit Student Citizenship Status (2018 EP and Earlier).
• When submitting a Student Citizenship record, save the Student Citizenship Status value from the request to the Student Legacy Citizenship Status data element.
• Note: the current SSE is the enrolment that should be used to determine if there are enrolment type codes for the student/enrolment. If there is more than one current enrolment, then any “Current” enrolment that contains an enrolment type code of 417 or 418 will be used to determine citizenship status.

A response to a Submit Student Citizenship Status request identifies if the request was successfully applied. If not successful, the response identifies which validation rules failed.
