Note: Prior to the 2018 endpoint, this service was referred to as Submit Preferred Mailing Address.
This service is no longer offered on the 2019 endpoint. The Preferred mailing address concept does not exists on the 2019 EP and is replaced with the Current Mailing Address. Based on the validation rules implemented, this service can no longer be used on any previous endpoint as Rule 11041 - Invalid Preferred Mailing Address or Rule 11023 - Mailing Address already set to preferred will stop SIS vendor making any updated using this service. The page will be removed once all the SIS vendors moved to the 2019 EP.
This service is used to identify which Student Address should be considered the Preferred Mailing Address for a Student in PASI. This identification does not mean it is the mailing address that must be used, but a mailing address that should be used in most situations.
This service can be accessed by systems with the Submit Student User role.
The information provided as part of the request is a reference to the specific Student Mailing Address that should be treated as the preferred address for the student.
The following rules are used to validate the information provided in the request:
Once the information is successfully validated, the information will be recorded within the PASI Core.
The PASI Core Version (Student Health Version) for the student will be updated if the update changes which address record is identified as the as the ‘preferred mailing address’.
PASI will create/update the student’s Elections Alberta Trigger record if the submission changes which student address record is identified as the student's Preferred Mailing Address.
When the student's Preferred Mailing Address is changed to reference a new Student Address record, a Student Status Processor Trigger is created to trigger recalculation of the Validation Status for the Student.
A response to a Submit Preferred Mailing Address request identifies if the request was successfully applied.
If not successful, the response identifies which validation rules failed.
