The Submit Student Gender service allows the client to update the Gender of an existing student in PASI.

The service can be accessed by systems with the Submit Student User role.

The following information is provided when using this service:

• Alberta Student Number (Student)
• Gender
• PASI Core Version

The following rules are used to validate the information provided in the request:

• Rule 9002 - Invalid ASN
• Rule 9010 - Organization Not Associated to Student
• Rule 9011 - Secondary ASN
• Rule 9014 - PASI Core Out of Date
• Rule 9023 - Empty Update
• Rule 11211 - Invalid use of Unknown Gender

If the validation is successful then PASI will update the Gender on the student’s record.

When updating the student's gender:

• Trigger the Student Status Processor for the student
• Trigger the Student School Enrolment Status Processor for each School Enrolment associated to the student that have a Registration Status other than “Created In Error” and have not been deleted
• Trigger the Student School Enrolment Status Processor for each School Enrolment associated to any Secondary ASNs on this Student that have a Registration Status other than “Created In Error” and have not been deleted.
• Update the PASI Core Version (Student Health Version)

PASI will create/update the student’s Elections Alberta Trigger record if the Gender is updated for a Primary ASN.

The usage of this service is audited using Service Auditing including the auditing of Caller Information.

Create a Student Audit Event with the following attributes:

• Audit Action = “U”
• Audit Subject = SubmitStudentGender (Audit Subject)
• Subject Reference ID = The Student ID of the Student record.
• Audited Values include Gender

The following information is returned after a successful request has been processed:
