Identifying Related Courses

When merging the newly calculated official mark information with existing official mark information, only Courses that are related to the Transcript Trigger that started the Official Mark Calculator can result in updates to Official Mark information.

A course is considered related to the Transcript Trigger when the Course is:

  • (B) Associated to a course mark that is considered impacted by a change in Maturity Date (see below).
  • (D) A higher level course of one of the related courses identified above.
    • This is identified by finding all Course Relationships with a Relationship Type (Course) = PRQ where the courses identified above are included as one of the Related Courses. The related course(s) are considered to be the lower-level course on a typical progression relationship.
    • The process is recursive, meaning that higher level courses of the higher level courses identified are also added.
  • (E) A prerequisite courses of one of the related courses identified above.
    • This is identified by finding all Course Relationships with a Relationship Type (Course) = PRQ where the course code the relationship is tied to is one of the courses identified above. The course in context on the relationship record is considered the higher-level course.
    • The process is recursive, meaning that the prerequisite courses of the prerequisite courses identified are also added.
