This service allows creation, deletion, and update of Waived Fee. Waived Fee are approved and submitted by Assessment and once created allow a student to register for a Diploma Exam in a specific course without being required to pay a diploma exam registration fee.

The Submit Student Fee Coupon service can be accessed by systems with the Submit Academic Record User role.

The following information is provided when using this service (* indicates mandatory):

• Alberta Student Number (Student)

• Diploma Exam Waived Fee Reference ID *
• Diploma Exam Waived Fee Course Code *
• Diploma Exam Waived Fee Expiry Exam Period *
• Diploma Exam Waived Fee Expiry School Year *
• Diploma Exam Waived Fee Is Deleted *
• Diploma Exam Waived Fee Reason *

This service can be used to manage a single record, or a list of records at the same time. This would allow a PASI Client to record its information in PASI by submitting the information in batches.

The following rules are used to validate the information provided in the request:

• Rule 9002 - Invalid ASN
• Rule 9014 - PASI Core Out of Date
• Rule 9015 - Invalid Course Code
• Rule 9062 - Reject data associated to Secondary ASNs
• Rule 9063 - Alberta Student Number cannot be Updated
• Rule 40700 - Course code must be diploma or pilot diploma
• Rule 40701 - Expiry Exam Session cannot be in the past
• Rule 40702 - Cannot create deleted student ​fee coupon
• Rule 40703 - Student ​fee coupon ​is already deleted
• Rule 40705 - Unable to update student ​fee coupon
• Rule 40706 - Available student ​fee coupon for student and course code exists
• Rule 40707 - Cannot update ASN or course code for student ​fee coupon
• Rule 60003 - Deactivated ASN

Once the request information has been validated, the following table of logic would apply.

The outcome of the request is based on:

• Whether the Reference ID for the Diploma Exam Waived Fee exists in PASI (i.e. the caller is updating an existing coupon)
• Whether the Student Fee Coupon Is deleted = true in the request information (Is Deleted)
• Current status of the Diploma Exam Waived Fee if it exists in PASI. See Waived Fee Status

The usage of this service is audited using Service Auditing, where all changes are captured in shadow tables.

The following information is returned after a successful request has been processed:

• Reference ID
  • List of any rejections
