This service is used to manage information that identifies a deceased Student.

The service can be accessed by systems with the Submit Student User role.

The following information is provided when using this service:

• Alberta Student Number (Student) *
• Is Deceased *
• Date of Death

The following rules are used to validate the information provided in the request:

• Rule 9002 - Invalid ASN
• Rule 9010 - Organization Not Associated to Student
• Rule 9011 - Secondary ASN
• Rule 9014 - PASI Core Out of Date
• Rule 11500 - Date of Death for an Non-Deceased Student
• Rule 11501 - Invalid Date of Death
• Rule 11502 - Date of Death Cannot be Before the Date of Birth

Once the information is successfully validated, the information will be recorded within the PASI database.

When either of the Is Deceased or Date of Death values associated to a Primary ASN are changed the following Status Processor Triggers are created:

• A Student Status Processor Trigger for the updated ASN.
• A Student Status Processor Trigger for each of the student's Secondary ASNs.
• A Student School Enrolment Status Processor Trigger for each Student School Enrolment associated to any of the student’s ASNs (Primary or Secondary) that are not deleted
• A Responsible School Processor Trigger for the student with the Last Update Object Name reflecting the deceased status business object

When Deceased Information updated on a Secondary ASN, the following Status Processor Triggers are created:

• A Student Status Processor Trigger for the updated Secondary ASN
• A Student Status Processor Trigger for the Primary Student linked to the updated Secondary ASN
• A Student Status Processor Trigger for any other Secondary ASNs linked to the Primary Student

When the ‘Is Deceased’ value associated to an ASN is set to ‘1’ (true), the following elements should be updated on all connections for Education accounts connected to students with the same ASN:

• myPass Connection Is Deleted = “1” (true)
• Connection Status = Deleted

When the ‘Is Deceased’ value associated to an ASN is set to ‘1’ (true), the following elements should be updated on all Document Order Items that have a status of “Ordered” for the same ASN:

• Document Order Item Status = ‘Cancelled’
• Status Change Reason = ‘Deceased’

The PASI Core Version (Student Health Version) will be updated if the “Is Deceased” value is updated.

PASI will create/update the student’s Elections Alberta Trigger record if the submission changes the value of Is Deceased.

The usage of this service is audited using Service Auditing including the auditing of Caller Information.
